I have to say this

If your considering selling to buy the Boxster Spyder, think again. The new 981 Boxster is probably a year out at this point. It will be a massively different car. Im all for buying different cars, but there is a new Boxster on the way.......

They do have somekind of protection in the rain for the Spyder. Not sure on back area but looks to work with the windows.

Well

I do know that the upcoming 991 is a completely new car (so they say) not just an evolution like the 997 from the 996. The 981 will be built off the same platform so if we put 2 and 2 together we get a brand new boxster.

Porsche always throws out cool models for the end of the line to entice new buyers. Everyone does this. I was geeked on the Boxster Spyder until i saw it in person. With a new car maybe 12 months away I would wait, especially when you consider you will have the car for at least 4-5 years if not longer.

Get rid of the GT (FIX THE AC!) and buy an older boxster to putz around in for a year, then trade it in on the new 981 boxster.

Engines shouldnt change much at all considering they are all new and only 1-2 years old now, but the chassis will be very different. The boxster will likely get bigger, but if you wanna get smaller a new 356 like car will be maybe 2 years away, thats the car i personally would wait for. Its supposed to be closer to 2600 lbs when the boxsters are regularly over 3000 now.

just food for thought.

Great car, I'd hate to own it and then sell it-this will haunt you in your older years.

Man you guys sure make it difficult to sell a car! I already feel sellers remorse and the car isn't even sold yet.

Wait until someone drives it away... You'll feel empty and sick in your stomach.

I know the feeling precisely.

When I bought my GT3 three years ago I just couldn't part with my 928 (I did sell my '34 Ford though).

You may feel bad if you sell it at the wrong price but if you sell it at a premium you should feel good. There's not a car I wouldn't part with if the price is right.Ask a high price where its worth it to you to get rid of it.

I hope you get full asking price for the car, but there can't be anything that doesn't work at that price. No excuse will do.
I went to Earl's in PA to rebuild my A/C in '08 and stayed there 2 days to make sure it was perfect. Well worth the trouble even with my common-as-dirt S4.

Earl actually redid all of the O-Rings and expansion valves on the GT a few years ago. At that time the high pressure line was fine and the A/C was ice cold until the middle of last year. Last summer it started blowing warm and eventually the low pressure switch kicked on and shut the compressor off. I had it in last year for diagnosis and we sniff tested everything including the rear A/C vents, under the seats, expansion valves etc. Vacuum operation was checked and the Head unit was also tested and fully functioning. The high pressure line was the culprit. I have the O-Rings, Receiver Dryer on hand and the High pressure line and new compressor seal is also on hand. There are short cuts to replacing the high pressure line but I want it done right to the original spec (hose is NLA).

Why would anyone want to buy a pristine, orginal, concours winning, highly optioned GT for $37K when you can buy a high mileage S4 with unknown significant front end damage and then spend a fortune rebuilding the car from front to back for far more money?

Afshin - Your car is the one GT I'd love to own. I love the unique colored cars and yours with all the options is just stunning. My two projects presently consume my attentions and wallet however.

Others have mentioned Wilhoit as an option, I agree but think Khaled is a more likely buyer. He was seriously in the market several months ago. I suspect he is not presently watching this forum.

GLWTS. I think your car is a great value and worth far more than the normal 90/91 GT.

For those that have suggested Willhoit, you all need to remember that he is in business to make a profit on cars he purchases/sells. Since I'm not willing to negotiate price significantly I don't think he would be interested. Yeah he may make a few thousand more than what I'm asking but by the time you consider shipping costs and time it cuts into that profit and wouldn't make sense. I would love to be able to work with him to sell cars, I think what he is doing is genius and his reputation and cars he sells are top notch.

Dan thanks for the heads up. I didn't realize that Khaled was seriously looking. I may PM him depending on the outcome of the ebay ad.
