DISCOUNTED prices for high-end tires
I normally run Bridgestone RE050A Poles and I'm now shopping around for the MY87 project car. I have always bought my tires from Tirerack as I seem to find the best price there. HOWEVER, I stumbled across a site https://www.roadwaywholesaletire.com
whose prices beat Tirerack both on a unit cost basis and shipping (atleast for me to NC).
Price comparison for my interests:
225/40/18 TR=$208 RW=$186
265/35/18 TR=$274 RW=$244
about $108 savings on a set (BTW-shipping TR=$50, RW=$46)
Sorry if this is common knowledge to others....if so, any experiences to share with this vendor?

Price look very competative... I don't Tirerack dscounts as much as they used to... I'll use this place for price comparisons. Sometime Discount Tire will match prices.

I did a quick search there for 255/40/17's...
I'm not sure I would want any of the available selection on my car.
My 2 cents.

I should have put that differently.
The site doesn't sell tires that I can afford that I would put on my car.
I end up wearing them out too fast, and even worse I'm now on a "student" budget.
The Green Machine is currently shod with Goodyear F1's, the older style that look like Sumitomo HTRZ-ll's. I'm not real happy with them, either. They do well at the track, but they howl like banshees on the road.
All the "super-directional" patterns I've used end up howling like that. For some reason, my car prefers tires with a blocky tread.
P.S. speaking of a student budget, the F1's were bought with student loan money! I bought my paramedic books used on fleabay to afford 'em!

If you're a Costco member, they're carrying Bridgestone again & they have the occasional $70 off coupon.
With the coupon, I recently got a set of four Bridgestone RE-11s (225/60R16) - mounted, balanced, CA recycling fee, & 9% tax included for $655 out the door.
Individual tire price was about $6 or $7 less than TR. Plus Costco includes free flat repair, free rotation, free rebalance & a road hazard warranty (which TR charges extra for).
Gotta pay sales tax at Costco, but ya gotta pay shipping from TR.
Hey Erik - you back in Texas? Shoulda given me a heads up on your CA visit.

I scored some great deals from Delti (US) www.tires-easy.com a few years ago. I don't know if the prices were the rollout lowballing, or were due to currency fluctuations, their advantage doesn't seem as large now. But one more resource, nonetheless. They have the real stuff and just about every knockoff one could imagine.
