928 Estate lost 1st gear???
one thing I noticed during an otherwise excellent track day is that the 928 Estate racer no longer has 1st gear? In my typical driving you NEVER use it, except for standstill starts...which only happen at the beginning of the run session....all the other gears shift correctly & tranny temps are still VERY good...always under 190F...
Trans has probably 150K+ miles on it and I did a fluid flush-filter replacement back in October when we built the car...it has approximately 51 hours on track since then.... I do not notice any slipping or other problems.....
Fluid level is also normal.....
Bill Ball had a similar problem that was solved with a simple fluid-filter change....I might try the same thing?
just for reference, 84 4 speed automatic with kickdown and bowden disconnected.... I always start from a standstill with the shifter in 2 then manually shift from then on....
