Does a (US)83 Auto. transmission model in fact have a "kickdown" system with regards to the transmission? Just making sure before digging into things I have learned on a Rennlist search. Thanks!

 

Look under gas pedal for switch. Should be one

 

That's the thing, there does not appear to be one under the pedal. Maybe the PO pulled, if in fact the systems was used on an 83.

 

There should be an armature on the back of the gas peddle with a piece that hangs down to engage the button that should be mounted to the firewall behind the that peddle. Just checked my '82 which has the same tranny as your '83.
