Really?

Go back to the Post #1 opener to this thread...

Pics 1-3 show the bungee cords extended (stretched) when the hatch is open.

Pic 4 shows how the bungee cords retract when the hatch is closed.

That's about it... what's not clear?

Just to update, I still have the 'prototype' on the car, I did sew up the ends of the hems to hide the ends of the rods but other than that, nothing and it works just fine.

I have found an almost matching burgundy vinyl but haven't got round to cutting out a new cover yet.

AO

Can you list the parts and quantities needed from 928 Intl to make the cover. I wasn't sure how many males or how many females since they dont have pics of the items. Also Ill be making my own cover soon. I have access to various vinyls and sunbrella from my sign business. So if you guys like what you see perhaps Ill make a select few. Any further info at that point should be directed to rguzman224@gmail.com. After mine is completed Ill post pics. I will also document the materials that Ill be using in case someone likes my version.

To me it looks the bungee cord is inside the channel inside the hem. I see the bungee streched out that goes to the two bobbins on the hatch but dont see what that other chord is doing across the channel unless thats all the same chord.

Has anyone done this with light colors? I was thinking of doing it to match my light gray interior but thought it might reflect light up and be seen in the rearview mirror. I have only seen ones in black.

I don't think the hardware is available other than in a new cover, can't see any part numbers on pet.

The bobbins are available.

Roger will know.

Right side bungee is anchored on the left side & vice versa. 2 bungees attach to the hatch. 1 other bungee attaches at the forward edge of the cover to the quarter panels.

The female receptacles are in the hatch trim and interior quarter panels of the 928's...
Male 'bobbins' came as part of the cover (or net).

Ok so I finally made my own cover. Parts from Menards, McMaster Carr and 928sRus and my vinyl supplier. Props to Whitesands for the idea, Roger for the bobbins and Bob from Park Ridge for helping me diagnose some issues I had by comparing his stock cover to my creation. So without further a due. The results...heres my vinyl banner version in matte black. Ill be creating a black canvas soon and will document further for those who may want to make your own...or I can make for you.

Rich,

The cover looks great, and as MjRocket said, the 928 S4 graphics that you added really make this a nice looking cover. Well done!
