Got my hardware today from Jeannie at 928 Specialists. Now, I get to play seamstress. I like drBob's thoughts on a flap near the tool box. I rememver when I had one on my old car if you had a bunch of stff in there, it would often times not cover the end near the wing.

For fabric, it might be a bit tough. My interior is all Classic Gray - so ideally, I'd like to do that. If not, I'll go black. The other thing, is I don't want any glare. So I'm thinking something like alcantara might be nice. Will probably play with vinyl to make my pattern.

Should be a fun project.

Default Luggage cover needed

Thought I would bring this thread back up.

Looking for a luggage cover for a black interior.

Is anyone still making the Sunbrella ones?

Any other options?

Thanks
Greg

I would LOVE TO have one as well! Anyone got leads on one? Black or tan would be fine! Heck, could even be in bad shape since replacing the fabric is not a difficult task

Hi

I got mine from Brian Lineker in Australia he owns several 928s AND a leather shop....

http://linekerleather.com.au/porscheblind.html

He does 13 colours I think and delivered to me in the UK from Australia in 3 days

It cost me around £110 a couple of years ago and was brilliantly well made with all the Porsche fittings and he even threw in a leather 928 keyring for free.

Hes a really helpful and nice guy

Hope this helps,

All the best Brett

We have plenty in stock black and blue - exact replicas of the factory covers with the correct hardware - material is marine quality non fade and non rot - for $245 each. We also sell the covers for the 78 & 79 cars as well.

What is the function on the bungee cord that streches from one end to the other where you drill the holes.

Clearly you have come up with a big money saver.

I ordered a new one from Sunset in Portland last year and it was right at $1,000.00.

I bought a ratted out one from 928Intl, dropped it at a local upholstery shop I use and around $75 later he remade it with Sunbrella type stuff. I picked silver for cool and its in a silver car. Its a 5 footer, up close the seams for the edge binding are a little sloppy, but function is 100% and the fabric is great.

The bungee cord attaches to the hatch so it pulls the cover up when you open the hatch... to place stuff under the cover. Then in closing the hatch, the bungee retracts and the cover lays back down flat.

For 259 Euros you can get it from a german company who uses original fabrics and details. Here is their web address www.schnellekurve.de .
No affiliation at all, just great service (by a woman named Sandra Amberg who is a board member of the German 928 Club).
