Default J9/18/et68 fronts and 11J/18/et54 rears

Will a set of CCW C14's in sizes J9/18/et68 front and 11J/18/et54 rear fit on a S4? The rubber is AD08 255/35/18 and 295/30/18.

Below is the rear tire info:

Nice tread pattern. I have seen some other tires on occassion in some tire stores that had even more funky patterns, like wavy lines and almost approaching a slick because not a lot of tread, those are cool.

New avatar got a bigger pic?

Great, that blue is just the right color and looks factory.

Andrew's 928 Wheel Fitment Calculator indicates that you would need a 5mm spacer on rear hubs to prevent tire from rubbing on inside. Can anyone else verify?

That concerns me a bit, and that's why I am asking. A lot of people are running wheels with 8" backspacing. This would have 8.125" backspacing. Will that work? The CCW rep said that with 295 tire, 928 can run with as much as (or as little inside clearance as) 8.25" backspacing. The landsharks fitment doc has an example of someone running 295/30/18 on 11J/18/et54 in the rear without any problems.

Any first hand experiences or links to first hand experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully some members will give some feedback as this is the next big purchase for my 928. Let us know what you find out.

Tuomo--

That combo -may- fit, depending on the actual shape of those tires. I've seen the same sized tires from two different manufacturers have almost half an inch difference in cross section. That translates into 1/4" difference on either side of the tire. enough to maybe eliminate the 5mm spacer need.

On a 10.5" wheel, the section width of 295/30 ad08 is 11.7" and the tread width is 11.5". On the same size wheel, the section width of 295/30 Bridgestone RE050A Pole Position is 11.9" and the tread width is 11.6". The 295/35 Bridgestone RE050A on a 10.5" inch whee has section width of 12" and tread width of 11.8". All three tires can be run on a 11" wheel, in which case the section width of all three tries grows by about 0.25".

Does this information help in coming up with the answer? Can you share some data on what tires have rubbed on 11" wheels and what offset did those wheels have?

something to read;

The Boss is back: Iconic Ford Mustang reborn

This Boss 302 is the first non-SVT model to pull more than 1 g of lateral acceleration. On road courses, the Boss is said to better the GT's lap times by two seconds. The Boss 302 is also enhanced with a list of performance upgrades to the steering and chassis. It's lowered 11 millimeters front and 1 millimeter rear compared with the GT and gets adjustable shocks and struts. There also are stiffer suspension bushings, high-rate springs and a larger rear stabilizer bar. The Boss rolls on black 19-inch alloy racing wheels wrapped in Pirelli PZero rubber.

The mustang has a higher center of gravity and I doubt it is close to our 50/50 balance yet they have put in the necessary suspension pieces MAINLY shocks/springs to get it to stick. The 928 should do better with equivalent pieces and rubber.
