I am in the process of replacing the internal seals on my P/S pump. While I am in there I was thinking it might be a good idea to give the thing a good clean out. Any suggestions on what the best method is -- citrus cleaner / water rinse, brake cleaner, etc.??? Beyond the veins falling all over the place (which did not happen, yet), anything else to look out for?
Thanks for the link - nice write up. No super human strenght required for the newer vs of the p/s pump :-). Pretty sraight forward service which I am glad I did b/c the forward seal, which is hidden behind the drive wheel, was showing some signs of dry rot. Probably not long before it started to weap. I'll post some photos if anyone is interested.
