Default Power Steering Pump

I am in the process of replacing the internal seals on my P/S pump. While I am in there I was thinking it might be a good idea to give the thing a good clean out. Any suggestions on what the best method is -- citrus cleaner / water rinse, brake cleaner, etc.??? Beyond the veins falling all over the place (which did not happen, yet), anything else to look out for?

Thanks,
Dave
