Default Rear seat seatbelt "rosette"... how to install?

Hi folks,

These are the bezels that go around the hole where the seatbelt feeds out of the inside quarter panel for 3-point rear seatbelts. The old ones in my car had all their flange/lips broken off and someone had attempted to glue them in. The new ones have relatively straight lips on them which stick out futher than the depth of the hole in the quarter panel liner where they're supposed to go.

How are these meant to be installed? Are you supposed to pull the liner and heat these things up so you can bend over the edges or something?

Thanks,
Paul

Meaning, pull the panel, install the rosette, bend over the lip, and then, somehow, staple the lip to the panel behind the outer rosette bezel? Sounds like a pretty specialized stapler and staples would be needed.

Thats how I have seen them in the car. How were the orignals held in place?
I am sure a good glue would do the same job.

You got it. Air stapler required nothing special - just fires staple into a flat surface There's about 10 staples per lip.

Lip bends over about 1/4" onto the rear of the panel.

I see. My electric staple gun might work too, but I'd need to find very short staples. The originals measure about 3mm long (i.e. they stick about 3mm into the surface).

By the way, how do those side panels come out?

dont bother with any staples get some good brush on adhesive from HD Weldwood is what i use then brush the panel and the plastic surround let it tack then press to fit
To remove the panel requires the rear seats bottoms to be removed first then possibly the rear seat backs if you have the old plastic surrounds already floating around then you should just glue them into place.
The parts you have should last about 6 months before the tabs will seemingly snap off .
I have replaced a few of these before i saw how long the plastic tabs take to break off the surround
