Default New Brake Pads Rotor lip hitting on pad

I just received my new pads from Roger returned the Wagner's and the profile is a little taller. This has caused the new pads to rub on the rotor lip. The lip is formed from wear and is not that deep but a trial placement shows a distinctive line on the pad. The rotors are still good, so should or can I file down the edge of the pad so they seat correctly.

Grind off the lip if your rotors are still within spec.

The wear limit for front disc thickness is 30.0 mm, all years.

The spec for minimum thickness after machining is 31.2 mm for 85 and prior, and 30.6 mm for 86-on.
(I presume that means 86.5 with S4 brakes, and that the 85-and-prior spec applies to early 86-- but I am not sure).

Thickness new is 32.0 mm, so the wear limit is only a 1mm lip on each side.
