Help me pick an intake color
Intake went out today for powder coating but I can't decide on a color to save my life... The car is Platinum Metallic and I don't want to do anything off the wall. I would love to do a candy red but it just won't fit with the stock paint. I was thinking maybe a gunmetal gray?

I like the idea of color matching the paint, which I'll be doing with my next intake.
Downside is I'll have to buy an entire container of mocha brown powder.
Upsaide is that gives me an excuse to color a whole bunch of stuff
The Gunmetal Gray with the textured finish is really sharp on any engine / car color.

Chrome??
There was an S4 (I think) years back owned by a guy on the CA yahoo group (some board) that had the whole dam intake gleaming like liquid silver.
It was amazing.

Powdercoater called this color silver chrome...
Wish I had done the valve covers at the same time. I was just too cheap.

It would be great if someone had a pic of Oscar M's original chromed-look S4 engine. These are some old post comments it got;
No question about the others as Oscar himself emailed me the pics of his polished S4 in high res! I have others pics of the same motor, but I'm not at home.
P.S. Oscar was part of our Texas 928 group before he relocated to Socal. The Socal pics above are some of the same as I have on my hard drive (but mine are in high res ! )
Thanks for setting this up. What a perfect day to meet some of the local 928 gang and run the cars. I missed getting a couple of pics of Oscar's engine bay--holy crap it's sharp! Guys, email me if you'd like some pics.
DAMMMM Oscar - the pics in the link look gr8! I only wish my eng. compartment looked as good as your BEFORE pic!!

This is considered chrome. Not really, but thats what its called in powdercoat. A nice bright silver with a clear coat.

Very interesting replacement of fuel lines in that with some braided lines. That in take looks very nice. Nothing beats a polished or chromed appearance.

I like chrome/silvers....
But the intake was already silver for 20+ years! Give it something new, mix it up a bit! Oh yeah and make you have have powder clear put on top for the added protection against messes and cleaners!
This is Hammertone, Antique Gold. Looks Gold in the light, and black in the dark.
