Interesting that it has a blank switch for the sunroof, rather than a block-off.

The engine rebuild was a result of a thrust bearing failure (TBF). The Porsche 928 TBF problem is only an issue on an engine that has not had a simple crankshaft end play check during it's routine maintenance. It is most often the result of a previous non-informed owner; which happened in my case. Below is a link of how to care for this issue so it doesn’t happen to you.

Sorry to say but TBF is a very common issue on Japanese imports with an automatic. Although most of them have very low mileage and make them desirable, they have sat for hours in traffic and accumulated a disproportionate amount of hours. A significant number of otherwise pristine imports to Europe have suffered from this failure, turning it into a nightmare. Especially if the block of a GTS engine is shot.
If you don't mind the additional fender guards of Japanese market cars, then this might be for you. If this is a legitimate GTS engine rebuilt. TBF normally means (but not always) that the bearing has spun, turning the block into a coffee table base.

235 in left hand drive, 15 in RHD spec. So 250 overall. Only 12 were 5-speeds, 9 LHD and 3 RHD.

There are other small differences, KPH speedo, daytime runnong lights etc.
It does have a sun roof, not used much if at all.
