Turns out the sound was a thrust bearing in the alternator. The alternator was a new rebuild from Bosch with litterally 200 miles on it. Anyway shop took care of the repair on their dime since it was their part...AWESOME!

Also had to replace two injectors, even though I JUST sent them away to get cleaned. Oh well...

Now the car is being gone over from head to toe. New Fuel Lines...DONE, New Alternator....DONE, new Water Pump....DONE, New Motor Mounts....DONE, New Timing Belt....DONE. I don't know what will come up next but I just really hope to be able to drive the car a little, as I've driven it 200 miles since April. How bad does that suck?

That sucks a lot; but, it sounds like you're on the road to recovery now. It's really hard to tell where a noise is coming from sometimes--glad to hear it wasn't something inside the engine! / Bruce
