Default Auto Trans seized to the Torque Tube

Anyone had this problem? The TT center shaft is completly siezed to the trans input shaft. The 1" of progress I have made so far is actually the TT shaft working itself out of the TT rather than out of the trans input. The spines must be rusted because they are binding worse than I've ever seens before... maybe the car was under water at one point because I can't seem to do aything to seporate these two. Using the notch where the coupler bolt goes through as a guide, it's clear that the shaft has not moved out from the trans what so ever. Suggestions?

did you remove the pinch bolt??
Try spraying some PB blaster on the coupling and the taking a good piece of wood/sledge and hitting the other end inwards this may break the rust

Yes, pinch bolt out. Will try and give it a wack from the other end to see if I can break the rust free.

Just to verify, the pinch bolt needs to be totally removed not just loose. there is a groove in the shaft the bolt passes through so the shaft wont come out even if the bolt is loose be still installed.

You can unbolt the torque converter from the rear flexplates through the holes in the torque converter housing, then unbolt the torque converter housing from the transmission and pull off the TT with attached torque converter housing/flexplates. Then you can use a brass or aluminum rod to pound on the drive shaft end through the opening of the rear flexplates/drive shaft coupler.

Heat from a Oxy torch can also be used to break the rust bond when you have it apart like this.

Good luck!

Yeah, I think that's what I'm going to have to do. I tried heat but it didn't help so the rear flex plate will have to be unbolted and I'll work the TT shaft out from the trans side. Thanks!
