What are some of the tire brand(s) you are running now that have this size? It looks like the only option available is a Fuzion ZRi. Never heard of them. Is anyone running them? Opinion? Thanks!!

Correct, very few choices.

Try the 50's instead.

I installed 50s on my car and all is going well.

Ride height is still satisfactory and one bonus is that the speedo is now nearly spot on with my GPS, not 8km/h low at 110km/hr.

Ugh, the Conti's are on Closeout and less than two remain. That's not good. So as of now TireRack only offers one street tire for the 16" Wheel.

Ask Polecat702 on here. He's running the fuzions on his '87. He said he likes them and they ride nice.

I got the Fuzion ZRi's on my S4, they ride great, and are a good buy. They even have a great road hazard warranty. Got them at the Tire Works within walking distance of my house. They have the latest Bear alignment equipment and thier tech knew how to do a 4 axel alignment on my shark. Mounting & high speed balencing, 4 axel alignment, shop supplies, taxes = $ 859.43. I've put about 2800 miles on them and they track strait, quiet and I'm very satisfied with them. I believe they're made by Bridgestone.

I did try to order those and it said they were sold out.
Here what Tire Rack says when u try:
"The item(s) crossed out below are no longer available."

Thanks Polecat as that seems like this will be the last choice unless I go to a 17 inch wheel or a 50 series tire. Has anyone switched to a different wheel whether a factory wheel or a-market and what do you do with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System??

All the tires are racing type tires so that is out. Tire Rack is out of the Continental Street tires and the rest are racing type with the Fuzion street tires which I am not familiar with.
My rear tires have about 4-5/32 left so I am starting to prepare!!

Thumbs up

Put a full set of Fuzion ZRI's 16 inchers and they ride great and handle well (so far). They were about 400 plus tax & M+B.

Does that mean they have track-type tires available? Wow - I just had a conversation with my mech about this. I'm fine with a more track-oriented tire, but I won't need new ones for another 3 years or so, and I don't want to start a tire warehouse...

Yep - I faced this about a month ago. Fuzion is the only thing available. I think its a bit odd considering there are still a bunch of 9-inch Fuchs wheels on old Carrara's that run that same size. I could understand that there isn't a huge market, but I'd think it would be a big enough market to support at least a few vendors continuing to make that size.

Luckily, I'll concur with what everyone has said. The Fuzions are very good DD tires for the money. They handle well, wear predictably, low noise. I had a set on my last 300ZX convertible for about 2 years and 30K miles and was really happy with them.

Just checked the TR link... Wow.

At first I thought, "Well, at least there are a couple of treaded DOT track tire choices available" but really it's just the Kumho - and it has a tread wear rating of 50, plus they have to be shaved for dry track use! Yikes!

Just bought a pair of Fuzion 245/45-15's for my '89 and they should be delivered today. I will let you know. I don't drive very aggressively anymore, given the local deppities propensity towards a-hole-ishness. In fact when I lived just a few miles north, the cops would stop me regularly for no reason whatsoever. Reasons given were, "didn't like the way you came out after the light changed" to "just checkin on ya". It got so bad I finally wrote a snotty letter to the sheriff and the police chief as they have both as well as a state trooper barracks there. All of which are pr1cks.

So, I lock the cruise control at the speed limit anymore. Don't do any "spirited" driving and just enjoy the car to its minimum. When I lived in AZ, it was easier to find a stretch of road that was unmolested by LE and open it up some. Nothing radical....just fun.

However, if you drive the speed limit here in SC, you are "suspicious". I constantly get behind people doing 35 in a 45 or 40 in a 55. One reason for that is the overzealous cops who are mostly in their 20's and have real attitude problems. Like Robin Williams said in "Good Morning Vietnam", (paraphrasing), "I've never met a group of people so badly in need of a BJ in my whole life".

But I'll give a review of the tires when I get them.
