Default Sun Shade - WTB?

I am looking for a Sun Shade for my 94 GTS, apparently 928 specialists doesn't carry them anymore? At least that's what I'm hearing, I can't get them to call me back!

Any one have an extra one they wanna sell, or can someone recommend another manuafacturer? Thanks.

Hmmm... I thought I saw something that looked like sunshades when we visited the 928 Specialists warehouse this past weekend. I should have asked.

Keep trying to reach them, maybe through email, or PM rennlist user "DR".

Bing has a 12% I think rebate if you search then to reach autoanything.

Which seems better, fold or roll?

Walmart had two cheap folders, too big and too small.

I like the ones my wife has in her car, from Costco I think, semi round kind of square with a wire around the edge so they twist into 1/4 sized for storage, and pop up tight for use.

We just ordered some of the folding type but we can also get the rolled version.
What do people prefer?
I have a couple of the original Porsche Factory shades and they were the heavy folded type and work really well.
Feedback please?

I think I would prefer a rolling type as long as it stayed in the window ok.

The way I have to park at the office, one sun shield really doesnt help much. I wish a complete window covering option was available again.

Someone needs to come up with a tonneau cover that hooks over the windshield wipers, velcros around the side mirrors, and either has a big pocket to slip over the rear wing or rear L-brackets that slip under the rear edge of the hatch. I'd buy one (two?) just to be able to protect the dash/interior.

I have these and they work well and fit well.
They make them for all the windows, with them all on on a hot summer day in Georgia in a black car it is not real bad when you get in the car.

Try the ones from my post, they are the same ones that DR used to sell, they have improved suction cups.
They do not have them listed on line, but they make custom fitted ones for all the windows on a 928.

Several companies make this type now, but so far nothing thats a custom fit for the 928.

Hey Greg, do those really stay in place, all the roll-up types I've ever seen sag below the sunvisors and often fall out of position ...

I use a leftover folding one made from my 968. A little too short for the 928 but it does stay in place in the Texas sun!

We used to call those 'cockpit covers', the shields for the roof and the windows. No way to hard-fasten them to the car, so they would too often end up on other peoples' cars though. Maybe a loop around a mirror or two with a little plastic lock or something.

I would like a full set of shields for all the windows. My car lives in the garage and that keeps the interior panels like new. But it does get parked out sometimes, and the shields would protect the panels and keep it cooler inside too. DR has/had a set of full shields, worth asking him if he still has them available.

Echoing a note in the SITM thread, we need to support our dedicated vendors when possible. If he has a good product that's reasonably priced, I would rather buy it from him and keep the money in the family. I need a new outdoor car cover too.

Roger, how much are the original Porsche shades? How much are the folding type reproductions?

Well, apparently there's family, and then there's "family".
