Upholstery Stapler question?
I'm recovering Garrett's rear seat bottoms. The originals are foam and the leather is just stapled to the foam with a outward clinch design. What stapler can I buy to do this properly??? I have found manual ones but I'm thinking the force of pusching down hard enough to get the staple out will deform the foam.
Is a air controled / electric outward clinch stapler the way to go?
Thanks, Dean

After measuring the factory staples, I bought a regular cheap air stapler (about $30 at a local tool place), and some 1/8" long 1/2" crown zinc-plated staples.
The staple size is standard - its an 80-series staple (12.8mm crown, 3mm legs).
I got it for repairing my leather interior - leather headliner needs new glue to stop it sagging (its a no sunroof car), so I removed all the staples down 3 sides (left front attached) to peel it back for new Permatex headliner glue.
edit: Oh - not sure what size staples were used for the rear seats - I recall they're long-ish, like maybe 1/2" legs? and splay oddly.. my advice above was for interior panels with a hard core, like door panels, rear quarters, headliner, etc.
