Schocki, as soon as the date is set for the first race, we will have rooms booked and transportation arranged.

You will have to come back for this one.

We are already planning a large 928sRus GTG at the venue.
It will be a blast.

I've been following this closely and there are many people saying it won't happen, at least not for 2012. I hope they are all wrong but there are a lot of obstacles to overcome first. They have no land, land in the hill country is very expensive, the money or backers are an unknown right now, Austin has a lot of tree huggers that are already lining up to stop it, and it may take more time than they have available to be ready for 2012.

Again I hope it does happen, just trying to be realistic.

Jim,

I hope it happens too but like you am a bit skeptical. Turns out they DO HAVE LAND, it has some improvements (like access by roads as well as electrical and sewer close by) the city has agreed to expedite all permitting and Tilke has already been working on the design! Looks like it actually COULD HAPPEN!

I have even sent my resume to them in hopes of getting a job to help make this a reality... The fact that Tavo (the promoter and power behind this deal) is family friends w/ Eccelstone and has known him since he was 2 does not hurt either!

I had dinner tonight w a guy that is relatively close to it.
He said realistically it will be in 2013.

You don't want to fly into DFW to attend unless you want a nice road trip, which on second thought, in a 928 would be really nice!! (3 Hours to Austin)
