I replaced 4 of my original injectors in 2001 based on testing, as either their opening or spray pattern was poor. No issues at all since. Recently I found 4 NEW 012s for a Pug 505 on ebay here in Oz, so now I am set for a while. The 047s seem to be available for a lot less (US$20 ) if you keep your eyes open for them. Now we have a happy user vouching for them, the options are much better, and cheaper.
Or you could look here for a group buy-
http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/22..._injector.html
Chinese source quoting "US$2 - 10 min order qty 300"

Well I have done a few miles on these injectors now and the car is performing as it should.

Learnt a lot more about the CIS system too, its very critical to get the various pressures setup perfectly. I have also noticed that it is better to set the pressure with the engine running and not just the fuel pump, on mine there is a quite a variation in pressure between just pump running and the engine running. Yes I have the vacuum pipes disconnected in both cases, and used a mityvac to check the effect of vacuum on the control pressure.

So I now know how to check and set the fuel pressure, the cold start pressure, the warm pressure and the high vacuum pressure - yep the WUR has 3 separate adjustments!

Small plug at the front does cold start, large plug with the fuel inlet and outlet ports does the warm pressure, and the allen screw behind the brass cover on the underside does the vacuum enrichment adjustment.

Quite a journey, but I now have a well running car!

I put in these "shorty" injectors and the car runs well. Maybe smoother. Hard to tell if there is any power increase. The car was running pretty strongly previously. No harm, for sure.

I put in a set of the shorter Merc injectors March 2011. Also installed a wide-band A/F ratio meter.

No objective evidence, but it all went fine.

A/F adjusted fine.

Plug's color fine.

Ran just fine.

Hi,

Sorry to bring up this old thread, but I would like to confirm with the people using them, that the shorter injectors (Bosch 0 437 502 047) are working ok and are good substitutes for the original ones.
Thanks for your feedback.

Regards
