Even if it's off by 10 degrees, for $27 that's close enough

Ok, how many of us have walked around the pits inbetween our runs with one of these, walking up to a strange woman to declare she's "hot" then show her the reading......just me?

Not as much fun when trying the same angle with a radar gun.

Yeah, that has been 29.99 for months so this 10 % off is a good deal. And I have NEVER wandered around the pits, racetrack or otherwise, looking for some strange- they're easier to find than that...

I bought one from them two weeks ago. Same brand.
$50.

It was in a case and had a long heavy flexible metal probe to reach around the motor.

Not listed now. Its great. See if they have it and compare, you might want to spend extra for the functionality.

I've got one of those. It's off by 10 degrees at room temperature.

Kinda like their torque wrenches -- not exactly a precision instrument, but works fine if you intend to use it as a hammer.

Mine seems very close and reproducible. It says . though, to be sure to let the sensor adapt when measuring successive points that are very different in temperature.

They are good but not a serious measurement instrument. Generally, the car stuff I measure with mine tends to be more for 'relative' readings than absolute. Looking for a cooler or hotter header pipe. Looking for hot and cold areas on a radiator to help diagnose partial plugging. I confess that I did shoot it through an inspection glass at a boiler flame, just to see. It was correctly off-scale, reading the flame rather than the glass.

A handy toy at a good price.

If you are shopping there, the vacuum brake bleeder kit at $17 is a goodbuy. It includes the metal-pump hand vacuum pump similar in function to the typically plastic-pump MitiVac tool. Lots of hose adapters and stuff come in the kit.

Strangely enough, I had no idea what effect the word 'Porsche' had on the females. I kinda' knew Rolls Royce and Ferrari had the magic effect, but until I owned one, never heard women mention anything about Porsches. I thought only guys who were into racing could appreciate the cars. Then again, I grew up in a time when the early Porsches looked like VW Karmann Ghias, so maybe thats why it seem so strange to me, I can still see the distant ancestor resemblence to VW's.
