Removing paint from spoiler

Hello,
When I bought my '87 S4 a month ago, it came with a spoiler painted in body color. It looked nice, but I think PO did not use flexible paint as it cracked in a few places. Thanks to a fellow rennlist member, I now have another original black spoiler to put on the back of my car.
The plan is to strip the paint from the original spoiler and then put it back on the car (or depending on its condition, repaint it again, but now using flexible paint). Has anyone stripped paint from original spoilers before? What is the best approach to handle this task? Or should I simply bring it to a local paint shop and have them strip the paint?
Thank You!

Alexei you should definitely try to repaint your existing one. The odds are that the previous owner sanded the wing to prepare it for paint so it will never look normal. Alternative is to sell it for cheap and just keep the one you purchased on the car. How does the new wing look?

Thanks a lot guys for your replies.
Afshin - Not too fancy of letting that painted spoiler go for cheap, will try to get it repainted. New spoiler looks great (well of course it will, no paint cracks to deal with lol). Has some fading, but I'm thinking Black Wow should take of that? Or is there are anything better on the market?
Thank You!

Black wow will definitely give you the best results. It is much thicker than most of the protectants on the market and darkens well. I've used it on my rear quarter window trim with some success.
