Unhappy An potentially expensive mistake....

I took the 928 out today to get the fluids moving and about half way though my 3 mile loop, the rains came.... I wanted to get back to shelter since she just got a buff and polish and I was on the go pedal a little too heavy, lost the *** end in a corner, went to correct, flipped it the other way and can over a curb......

From what I can tell, at the very least it's a belly pan, new alternator pulley and belt, possibly alternator mount, alignment and I'm not sure what else yet.

Cosmetically, no damage, emotionally, it's another story...

I feel like i'm gonna barf...

I took what pics I could sticking my arm under the car with my phone cam, but I dont have a lift to see what's really going on....

Sorry for the low quality pics...

sniff..

Rob

You just need a new pulley on that alt.

Doesn't look to bad

It looks crooked though, looking down from the top... I'll try to jack it up and post some better pics this weekend.

I think if it were actually crooked it would have thrown the belt almost immediately...

The belt was sheared off... i came home on battery...

Here's some "better" pics with the aid of a floor jack and flashlight.

By better, I of course only mean higher quality...

Alt pulley for sure, possibly a bracket/cassette brace. Who needs a belly pan.

I see you are missing a bolt down here:

Sleep it off and worry about in in the morning... It's not as bad as you think right now.

Yeah man, it's a bummer for sure, but no body damage. It'll be a few good nights of wrenching and no big deal. Have a beer and tomorrow it will just be another project.

Thank you. I appreciate the reassurance. I know it's always worst while the adrenaline is still coursing. I'm gonna log off for the night and give it a rest until tomorrow.

Thank Guys. :-)

Don't throw away the vent pieces from the belly pan - the new pans that Mark A. sells don't come with the vents...
