Agree with taffelman... this is going to be a pretty long and pretty expensive project, but if you were looking for a project, then carry on! If you are looking for just a car to drive and have fun with you would be MUCH better off getting one that is already together and driving and just needs a few things. You would be money ahead in the long run!

Thanks for all the encouragement and the warnings guys.

I'm fully aware that this isn't a great start for a "nice" car. I'm planning on doing somewhat of a budget track car with the legal requirements to make it streetable. Plus I wanted something to work on. I love working on cars, unless it's the car you have to have running for the daily commute!

Goal one is to get the motor running and make sure it is sound.

That is the PERFECT idea for this car...though optimally you would use a 5spd car, but this one sure will be fun. Be sure to change the tranny fluid every 6 to 12 months if you are tracking the car much at all and you will be in GREAT SHAPE!
