Mark The reason why I did it is I didn't feel 90 amps was up for the task. Electric fan, 520 watt amp, and I didn't want to worry about enough power running everything at once. Night time, rain etc.
The unit I bought has a extra 35 amps over the stock 105 amp'd delco unit for a total of 140 amps. That is 50 more amps than stock.
I will eventually be adding another 4 channel amp and a bozoka sub so I wanted to be OK long term.
