Default Coolant needle pegged?

Last year my coolant temp needle was acting a bit strange, pegging then moving around to the correct temp then back and forth. Anyway, i replaced the temp sensor that mounts just above the water pump and now it pegs worse than before. Any ideas where to look next?

Continuity readings between the sensor, the 14 pin connector and the CE panel. Possible broken or shorting wires in harness or where connectors are soldered in the 14 pin. Terminals 3 & 5 @ 14 pin, and M24 & M25 @ CE, respectively. That's where I'd start.

Mine did the same thing last month. It turned out to be the wires underneat the rubber booth. The insulation was worn and two strands of wires were touching, enough to make the needle go off scale high. I got all new connectors from Roger. Check your wires.
