Well here is the story. This was an original FAST setup that was designed to have the supercharger belt go around the power steering pulley using it as the belt tensioner and FAST rated the kit at 5 -7 psi. I didn't like the idea of it being routed this way so with some help I re-engineered the tensioner to allow for a dedicated supercharger belt. With the additional belt traction and the FAST pulley setup I was seeing around 8 psi (9 in the cold weather) with massive detonation once I crossed 7 psi. I put in 94 octane fuel and the audible detonation went away, but I was afraid that there could still be some damaging pre ignition going on that I couldn't hear. The original location of my air filter was not helping much in that department either.
I had Ken burn me a new chip for my EZF that progressively removes timing up to -10.5 at 6500 rpm just to be safe. After my incident with the impeller, I figured make a cold air intake and order one size larger SC pulley and I should be very safe at that level. I could probably have my EZF chip changed now to say -5 timing or so but I don't think that is leaving that much power on the table.
So now no detonation, and my AFR's progressively go down from 14.7 to 11 at full boost. The only downside I have noticed is I used to get the boost come on a bit sooner with the old pulley setup but that is the trade off.

Preparation is the key. I media blasted mine with glass beads and got all the loose stuff off (some of the original coating was still really on there). I then hand sanded to level everything the best I could. I washed all the parts extremely thoroughly to make sure there wasn't any glass beads left behind (dunked them in the laundry tub).
After that I primed them with a very thin layer of zinc cromate primer and then followed with the engine enamel. The first pic is with 3 coats of the enamel. I used the some color when I added the additional coats and it darkened up nicely to the shade I wanted.

Looks real sharp Ted ! ![rockon](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/rockon.gif)
Mine is getting a fresh paint job too. I like the dupli-color products, and they seem to hold up well. I first painted mine over 12 years ago but in the past few it had started to yellow a bit.

I wish, have other things going on here and I won't be able to make it. At least Imre got my room!
I will be happy if mine looks as good as yours after 12 yrs!
