Default Brake Duct - Enhanced

Last year I went from my already upgraded S-4 brakes (model year 85) to the GTS Brakes on the front and the 993 TT Brakes on the rear.
I had really hoped that my days of cracking front rotors were over. I was able to get an entire year of track days out of the fronts before they cracked.

I had used the 965 Turbo cast hole/driller rotors.

I decided to go with the less sexy solid fronts this year and decided to try and optimize the cooling.

First I noticed that my front cooling ducts would not stay in place as noted in the first pictures the duct would not mate up at the top of the opening anymore. One to many bumps...so I made a piece of aluminum to extend out just a bit and flared it so that it will go over the vent in the bumper and stay put. Not pretty but functional.

Next I tackled the deflector that sets between the control arms. There is plenty of deflector showing through the vent with the skinny little 225s up front, but when you mount up the 275's you can barely see the deflector at all.

I scored a set of deflectors used from 928 International for $10 each and sacrificed them to extend the lip out about 2 inches. Just enough to keep from rubbing.

Lastly, I made a set of deflectors out of coroplast with a couple of wires run through the middle for strength and added those to the lower contol arm deflector.

I think this will work.
