My 70's AM V8 has them. NOT AT ALL EASY TO SERVICE. And unlike the 928's front brakes not much available in the way of upgrades.

One of my first cars was a 1970 Audi 100LS. It was front engine front wheel drive with inboard brakes. It was VERY easy to change pads, and from the top of the car/under hood serviceable. For a small sedan of it's era it sure handled and rode well.

I'd say its not worth the trouble...... lots of expense for minimal gain.....
