Crankcase venting issue (AGAIN)
I have done the searchs. Read all the info. I know this is a long standing issue. Now I need to get it fixed.
I have a 1983 supercharged 4.7L. I have installed the 928MS baffle kit and the cam cover drain setup. I currently have system vented to air. At 6-8lbs boost its pushing oil out the mesh breather. Not just a mist, but enough to make one hell of a mess. I dont dare attach the hose to my intake system, I`ll wind up with 42 octane and oil soaked plugs.
Anyway I looked at the Provent setup. Its cool but pricey, fits where my sc currently is and BIG.
I tried larger hoses to decease velocity, that helped a bit. I think CC pressure is also holding up drainback into cam housing.
Whats everyones take on a catch can inline before mesh vent? OR if I could get all the oil out in the can, I would vent back into the intake system. Any solutions would be appreciated.

Under what conditions is it throwing the oil? Please be specific.
Do you mean a baffle below the oil separator?
That's not a lot of boost. What are the compression number? Has it been re-ringed lately?
You could run the vent from the oil fill/separator to a separate catch can. At least it isn't going back into the engine and you can quantify the amount.

i added a crank case evac system to the top of the oil filler cap, down past the cat. creates a nice little vac to syphon off the gases etc... and i just added the 928MS baffle kit.
