Default Starting Problem '82 928

Have a problem getting the engine to run. When trying to start, the engine will fire, but will not continue to run. I have replaced the fuel filter (located next to the fuel pump), and have jumpered the fuel pump relay to be sure it is running. But the engine refuses to run once I let go of the ignition switch. Any suggestions?

Check the 0.4 Ohm resistor on the ignition system. There will be a black wire on one side and a pair of black/yellow wires on the other. That resistor is bypassed during cranking, but must work during running.
