Default Newbie Dictionary

Well, one could say ... But even then, a new comer might not understand what RTFM would mean.

As being still fairly new compared to some other, there's still some name and contraction I don't understand. (Not speaking English sure doesn't help!)

So, I thought there could be a kind of dictionnary, or thread, that list all the stuff people would be confused with when coming here. There's still plenty of stuff I don't understand. Help me fill it up!

RTFM : Read The F***ing Manual, self explainatory.

DIY : Do It Yourself, compared to a specialist job.

MAF : Mass Air Flow sensor, cylinder block between your air box and your throttle body which mesure the ammount of air going in your engine.

ECU: Engine Control Unit, the computer controlling the function of the engine.

RMB : Read Muffler Bypass, bypass or delete of the rear muffler for a better sound.

TB : Timing Belt

WP : Water Pump

X-Pipe : In a dual exhaust line, the x-pipe (name coming from its shape) equilibrate the pressure on both line, since each engine's sides doesn't exactly fire up in order.

K-Jet, L-Jet, LH-Jet : Bosch Jetronic fuel injection systems : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jetronic

CIS : Constant Injection System : http://www.audifans.com/kb/Constant_Injection_System

Megasquirt : The Most Efficient and Cost-Effective Electronic Fuel Injection Controller in the Universe - and YOU BUILD IT YOURSELF! http://www.bgsoflex.com/megasquirt.html

Porkensioner : Timing belt system that keep tension constant while the engine expand or contract under heat. Named from Porken who came up with the system.

Eibach : Specialist company for suspension spring : http://performance-suspension.eibach.com/

Bilstein : Specialist company for suspension shock : http://www.bilsteinus.com/

TBF= Timing belt or Thrust bearing failure
OB= you really want to start a small war
Turbo VS Supercharger= You want to start a big war and maybe get banned.

All I got of the top of my head that I can post.

Using seaching this forum has been very helpful for me. I know that I will pose a question now and them that I'm sure has been already addressed many times over......RTFM is always a good start, however that's like asking for directions when you are out on the road. Don't forget that special one WTF !

I found the post to which I was addressing. I searched for Acronym and didn't search for Dictionary.

Which also wouldn't have found it, 'cause dictionary is misspelled in this thread title and first post.
