Default New int wiper relay behavior odd

Ok, it does the intermittant thing well. But the mist setting seems screwed up; when I hit the lever to sweep once, it will only move as long as I hold the lever. If I let go, the wiper stops wherever it is. I have to hold the lever and release it exactly right to park the wipers back at the bottom of the windsheild. Is it supposed to do that? Or is it even part of the intermittant wiper relay at all?

No and Yes sort of

The tip to wipe once is directly driven from the switch to the motor - the relay is not involved. However the relay is involved in the parking function for all modes as well as the intermittent rate control.

If the tip switch parking is faulty then the parking of all the normal run modes is probably faulty too... check?

if so its either a problem with the motor parking switch (built into the motor) or the intermittent relay that switches the motor supply... relay is easiest to test.
