Default got most of them done

Andrew, I've got just about all of them done, scanned and ocr'd and put in pdf format. So they are very legible and the file sizes are relatively small. I'm missing the US '88 and '90 and have the ROW 78,83,86,87, and '92 so although we're 'light' on the ROW coverage, the major model transitions are covered. I can send them to you or anyone else who like to host them.

These were to be part of the next update to the Technical Publication CDs and I just havent gotten to it. My apologies to the group and to those of you who loaned me your copies.

Anyone who wants to host any of the files on the 3 CD set of Technical Publications is welcome to do so and I'm sure it would help a lot of people. If you plan to host all of the files, please let me know and I can send you the other files that were to be included in the update.

Again, I'm sorry that so much of this work has been duplicated and hopefully I can save someone the work of re-creating what I've already done and am happy to share.

That's great Jim. I'd love to host the Owner's Manuals. You can email the to me at andrewmolson AT gmail dot com.

I'm looking into hosting the other bits. Google gives you 1GB free, Not sure if they charge if you need more space. Will let you know what I find out.

Thanks.

Default archived owners manual file uploaded for sharing

I've created an archive of all the Owners Manuals I've done and uploaded it to a file sharing site:

http://www.mediafire.com/file/yym5iz...ersmanuals.exe

This is a self-extracting .rar archive about 62 MB in size. I haven't used this file sharing site before so can't speak to the speed or ease of use...if you try it let me know how it works. I've also emailed Andrew the archive for him to host and others should feel free to do the same if they have the wherewithal to do so.

I may try to upload the individual files as well so its possible to download only the year you own, probably not today since I need to clean my own car and finally drive it after 9 months of inactivity (redid my remote battery cutoff to allow front panel control w finer gauge cable running to the rear...one of these days I'll find that damn drain!).

With that out of the way, thanks for trying to pull all of this info together, Andrew. I tried to collect OMs a while back but didn't make much headway.
SharkSkin,

I sent in the copy of the 1978 owners manual that I had found on another site last year. I can see that the copy I downloaded came from your site as the fuse panel has the hand written "radio" notation. I apologize for continuing the unauthorized disimination of this document and appreciate your authorization albeit after the fact.

I do appreciate all the work you have put into your site which I just found this week after buying my first porsche and 928. I will be needing to complete many of the same projects you have documented. Thanks for all the hard work and sharing it with the community.

Jim- just downloaded the executable, all fine except for a corrupted file for 1991 - I won't retry because I don't need that one (yet, who knows?). Just wanted to give you feedback on the file sharing site. It was fast.

They're up! Still missing a few (1988, 1995, and many RoW/Euro) and the 1985 manual is pretty poor quality. If anyone can provide these, I'd be happy to host. Enjoy.

Martin, not sure why your copy of the '91 is corrupted..maybe a compression error in the archiving? My original is fine, let me know if you need it and I'll email it.

Andrew...yeah, not sure why, but the images in the '85 (which are unaffected by the ocr) are pretty crummy. I don't remember but maybe it was a scanned file I was sent...the rest of the ones I scanned came out nice. Oh well. BTW, if you end up scanning, I highly recommend abbyy fine reader for the ocr...simple to use and great results....ocr'ing will cut your file size dramatically.

Hi,

First of all thanks to all that have contributed to this excellent work, another confirmation that this is a wonderful and indispensable forum for the 928 owner.
Now a quick question, did all the GTS Euros Manuals have both German and English languages? Isn’t there a version only in English, for the Euro models?
The reason I’m asking is because my Manual (83S Euros) only as the English language, which is a little less confusing that those with both languages.

Thanks

Regards
