That can't be my compressor.............its too clean
Ole............I've attached a pic from PET that shows the bracket you'd need for the older pump; doesn't the main a/c hoses change also?

Again my exp. is limited to a 90 so there might be a way for someone like you who knows the other models.

Malcolm , I believe the hoses for your compressor would work based on a eyballing only. My hoses will not attatch properly to your compressor so its only a guess.

Colin................so you know I went through a painfull process of trying to get my a/c compressor and main lines rebuilt a year ago. Everywhere I tried in Calgary or Lethbridge couldn't provide the service required.
The easiest route was buying the rebuilt Porsche compressor from Roger and new lines.
If there's an outfit in western Canada that can rebuild these units/lines then lets investigate and share. Maybe I should get into the hose rebuilding biz also?...............not much Porsche biz around here though

The Greenline here should be able to do it. However there are many others that are closer than them who I know will rebuild them for me....
And Ole, the tensioner arm is different for sure. But if Malcolms old compressor will physically bolt into that bracket is the question.
If it will then it can be made to work with little issue.
Maybe give me a call tonight. Or I can call you if you PM me your number.
Cheers

Here's what I've got; it is a Denso 10PA20C compressor.
Here's the mounting bracket and tension adjuster that I no longer needed after switching to the Griffiths Kuehl compressor:

And be very careful threading the front and rear mounting bolts into the C-shaped bracket that attaches to the block bracket- they're fine pitch and not very robust. I ruined one, and went to 928Intl to get a used one. The first one they picked up was also ruined, 2nd one was good.
There are at least 3 flavors of block bracket- the two that I picture in this thread (post #5, https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-brackets.html) and then the GTS variant, which has an additional threaded hole on the rear to accept another bolt:
Early ('85 cast date) 'convex' bracket, interferes with a 10PA20C:
Later ('89) 'concave' bracket:
GTS bracket with the extra bolt:

I have replaced AC clutch bearings on my '78, 928 through Frank Tracy: division of North Side Transmission Corp. at: 718 384 9626. Call them with bearing #'s. Betterprice than dealer.
