Default Underhood Ignition Switched Power

I'm installing a fancy fan controller ( http://www.dccontrol.com/fancontrol.htm ) and I'm in need of a low current source of Ignition Switched Power. That is; I need a point in the engine compartment that is "live" (+12V) only when the ignition is on. Has anyone got any easy suggestions. Thanks.

There aren't very many..

Most obvious are final stage ignition feeders & injector supply, neither are very easy to access and both are for critical features so do it well...

On some later models there are some unused (15) loops but not on an '83

You may do best wiring something new through the firewall.

I would love to use a simple well rated gate rectifier to feed my 88 fans with the original car's controller as the sensor for sending gate supply . Trying to keep alot of extra stuff out of an already crammed German car
