I've been looking for a front spoiler for my 928 "Jet car" (928 928S/ 78-86)and have seen price ranges between $300.00 to $500.00 usd! What gives? Why are these front spoilers so expensive? Can anyone tell me where to get them cheaper used or new?
Thanks,
Big Mike

It's because it's a Porsche and there a very few. There are few becuase they keep breaking. I got a used one from a Rennlister about 2 years ago for 150.00. It was broken and I JB welded braces to the back. They come up on occasion so just keep asking and looking.
Typical price for new is around 350.00.
Good Luck and nice engineering job on your car.
Tim. plain old 8 cylinders of fun.

Hey Bug Man!
Supply and demand. I suppose it's costing them $15 each to make a run of 200 and then they sell them for $200. Then again, the mold cost $10k or more.
If someone else could source them then the price would drop a lot. Who's going to do it?

Why so expensive?
You don't need it to make the car function, but you do need it to make the car look better.
How come none are available used? Because most get replaced when they are broken, and by the time most cars get to the junk yard, it's broken.
If a cheaper source were available, a forum search would reveal that source.
The fact of the matter is that Porsche has you where they want. Suck it up, pay the price, and pay attention to the curbs, and it will be the last one you buy.
