Fuel pump leak

I have a 1981 928 and just purchased a Tre-255lph fuel pump. I replaced the seals on each side of the pump fuel line and they hold well no leaking. But I noticed at the seal ring between the check valve and the pump output that it is spraying thin stream of Gas. I tighten the checkvalve and it held for a while without leaking then started leaking again. I tighten it a second time and it topped and started leaking slower after driving for a while.
From reading forums this seems to be a common problem with the fuel pumps on this car. Is there any techniques or tips that might help me get this leak stopped? Is there a tape that can go around the threads to seal GAS?

here is what you have to do to fix your leaking fuel pump.
First remove the pump/filter assembly from the tank, remove the 4 rubber mount nuts.
Then you need to get a new filter, and the 4 new sealing washers, the hard line from filter to pump ( this line is probably already damaged from overtightening).
remove the pump and put some PTFE pipe sealant on the threads of the check valve into the pump as well as a new sealing ring, make this connection tight on the bench.
Then build the pump/filter unit, put anti seize on the cap threads so it will come off in 10 years.
fit the new hard line and sealing washers and then connect this to the filter then install the whole assembly onto the rear of the fuel tank.
Note only use new sealing washers otherwise the old ones will leak.
Note be careful when you tighten the wires to the pump as they are very weak threaded standoffs and you can shear the stand offs then you will need a new pump.
If you follow these instructions you should be able to stop any further leaks.
Note tie a piece of cloth around each of your wrists when working on the fuel pump so gas wont run down your arm.
Note keep a fire extinguisher handy.
