1978 color and interior choice
Well, why not keep the early car threads going, now that I started it. Anyway finally found a 1978 paint brochure. I will also post the 79 for your enjoyment as well.
Noticed how the colors toned down a bit in 79.
Figured since so many ask about original colors and interiors it would be nice to share what I have information wise.
I wish I could post larger than 149KB, is there a way?
Enjoy

Here are the 1979 color
1979 we see a change in colors but the interiors stayed relatively the same.

2 different volumes, 78-88 & 89-95 covering all models
gives model intended for (though available for all models), names in multiple languages, and codes
due to the finish they're almost impossible to photo...
if you're coming to SITM I'll try to remember to pack em if you want to take a look gander

Thanks for the offer but I will not be going. Once I am behind the wheel of a 928 then the real fun begins.
What was the purpose of these books? Where they for dealers, paint shop, etc. or for archival information?

I remember in 1980 a guys dad would drop him off to H.S. in a 928 that must have been the lilac. It looked purple, white, or other hues depending on the weather/light outside, never seen another like it.

I would kill for Apple Green, Talbot Yellow or Continental Orange.

Sam and Rog I am with you guys! Though Sam's choice is hardly what I would call RARE it is a cool color! Continental Orange would be the BOMB Rog! I have NEVER seen anything like it in person that I can think of! Would LOVE to see one...Rog, why don't you bring a '78 back to life w/ a full resto and do it in that color with that crazy orange pinstripe interior too! YEA BABY!
All that said, my fav color is Arrow blue!

I agree they are VERY hard to reproduce accurately!
