This is a bit early, but I am looking for a shop for a PPI for a 1988 S4 I found in Pasadena, MD. The car was bought in 2004 with 79K miles; the current owner had the TP/WP done then and has clocked just 3,000 miles since. No re-tension since (uh-oh). The car

He is having some issues fixed. From my test drive it only seems to need an alignment (seems slightly out) but I want to check for TBF, see the underbody and check the wear in the suspension and for any rust/corrosion plus straight frame.

Based on looking under the hood, it seems that the motor does not rock when accelerated and let down to idle; I think it needs motor mounts although the engine seemed to be riding high in the cabin...

If I go with this car I don't think the owner would be willing to drive it to Philly as much as I've heard the great things about Capt. Earl. It'll be worth asking though!

I've got another one in the mix from a Rennlister and another one down in Texas.

I'm hoping one of these 3 pans out...
