Default Euro Warz 1/4 mile times

I went to Euro Warz today with the family. We had a lot of fun! It was a 45 minute drive and I went right down the track. There was no lines so it was hot laps for sure. I made a total of 7 runs. I made 4 back to back runs and stopped for some soda and to get the my daughters a rootbeer float!

My first 4 runs where done at 2:40 pm, 2:44pm, 2:47 pm and 2:51 pm. The last 3 were made at 3:21 pm, 3:24 pm and 3:28 pm. My first run was all spin w/ a 17.646.

The next 3 went as follows

R/T .092 .098 .123
60' .2.426 2.56 2.471
330 6.563 6.727 6.585
1/8 9.963 10.111 9.952
mph 72.18 72.73 73.14
1000 12.845 12.973 12.818
1/4 15.302 15.40. 15.237
mph 91.18 91.16 92.09

The track seemed slippery but what do I know it was my 1st time down one and it was a blast. The last few runs had my the best times of the day. Engine had a chance to cool a little, about 1/2 hr.

R/T .516 .681 .173
60' 2.38 2.433 2.591
330 6.71 6.525 6.737
1/8 10.034 9.902 10.132
mph 75.80 72.98 72.59
1000 12.828 12.763 13.009
1/4 15.173 15.169 15.472
mph 96.71 92.96 90.47

So the fastest ET of the day was 15.169 and the best trap spped was 96.71mph.
I feel it is safe to say that she is a low 15sec car. With better tires it should have no problem getting into the 14s. And if I drove a little better that would help too.

I feel like I did enough runs to know where she stands. Tomorrow she will be going to my mechanics to put in Euro cams, TB and a whole bunch of gaskets and stuff. Then I will do this again and see what real world gains were made, just not a peak HP number ( Though I will dyno again)but how she performs.

After the last run the kids got in, we got some gas and off we went. The car was rock solid, stayed cool so that PT Cruiser electric fan is working great.

Sounds like a fun day. Looks like the kids are having a good time

I lived in Largo FL (Imperial Point neighborhood) when I was a kid back in the 70's, and me and my sister grew up having that same all-over tan that you only get when you live down there as your kids have. Good times. Wish my dad had had a 928 to haul us around in!

Not a bad run at all. Of course the REAL talent these cars have is turns. Hard to find on a drag strip.

I miss Florida as well. Looked like a great day with the family. They grow up FAST so enjoy.

Great stuff, I borrowed a G Tech the other day to get an idea of what performance improvement I've managed. I managed to reel of a series of flat 14sec, runs @ 107 mph and 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds, I've come to the conclusion that I could greatly improve the 0-60 time by removing the rev limiter and reaching 60 mph in second gear saving me the time of a gear change.

Our cars are the same so this gives me an idea of what i used to have.

Cheers Thanks, Roy

That's a pretty good time! I am surprised at the ET also, and Roy that is a high mph too. You must have some traction problems as I have a 110 mph ET on a slippery surface so you should be able to equal my mid 13s times on the strip. Any wheel hop guys?

Roytt. I look forward even though it will be awhile, to see what the car will do under boost! You've taken a sec of the 1/4 mile times as stated but I have a feeling it is more than that!

With a good 60 ft time and tires with my highest trap speed being 96 mph that should be good for low 14 sec! Trap speed really tells all.

IcemanG17 You should get lemons down the track. It is fun. Nerve racking. Things happen quick when you aren't use to get ready to launch. They kept yelling at me to close my window's, no A/C I want to get the car to do what you do but with bad syncro's I can't downshift except from 5th to 4th so it wouldn't be a lot of fun being out of my powerband!

Thanks Greg! No wheel hop. First run I decided to dump the clutch at 3k. Spin city. I was dreaming it would hook. Shifted to second and spun like crazy again After that I eased out of the hole.

I was looking for wheel hop as I know how much damage that can cause. But she was a good girl!

It is going to be fun doing mods and getting times over a period of time, OK a long period of time!

Yeh I had only one launch I was happy with, on one of the 0-60mph runs, it is a struggle to feed the power to the tyres while the turbos spool up and make more power.

I had one launch that went into wheel hop before I aborted the run.

Yes, once I get up and moving my TT does gather pace nicely and I expect a mid to low 13 would be possible.

I contemplated turning of the A/c but it gets very hot very fast so I didn't bother with it.

Cheers Roy
