Default You might want to change that brake fluid a bit sooner.

This is one of the accumulators from a Rolls we have in the shop, it is the old style with ones that can be built, a DOT 3 system, not a mineral oil system.

I was shocked when we finally got one of them apart after 2 days of trying, the other one may not ever come apart.

In the 40 years I have been doing this kind of work for a living I have never seen fluid this bad.

This is going to put food on my table for a while before we are done, both pumps, accumulators, valves, all six calipers, just to start.

Not directly 928 related, but still it is a good example of how a low mileage car is not a new car, it is a old car that is never driven.

4 minutes in the microwave, dash of pepper, you've got lunch!!

Sure beats anything on the Roach Coach.

Nothing beats a frozen pizza cooked in the same oven used to bake car parts.

This was after the torch was used three times to get them apart, it is so thick it will not even leak out the bottom hole.

A friend has one of those, and found the same problem - the prices for the rebuild kits were unreal! Porsche parts are really cheap by comparison.

Rob got the car cheap, because the owner had a quote from the Rolls dealer. But even with his DIY costs (including shop discounts for the parts), rebuilding the brake system and the suspension system wasn't cheap...

Wow that is NASTY! Makes me wonder what the rest of the fluids and car looks like.

Obviously this car was not owned by someone that has any clue about how to maintain a car. Just because it's not driven doesn't mean fluids don't need to be changed.

On the bright side Greg, you should be keeping busy with this car for at least the next 4 months!

The newer 87.5 up R.R's are much better for service costs but the 8-10 MPG fuel mileage adds up

Actually I do not find them out of line for the price of the car when it was new.

The ones that get me for parts price is anything made by Mazda, now that stuff is

FYI- This page has allot of the substitute part numbers so you do not need to pay R.R prices.

Kids, pay attention here. This is why we change fluid every couple years.
