I'm going to pass but this sounds like a gem.

Just got off the phone with Michael:

http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/1691733466.html

He's a retired master mechanic.

Car has 230K on the odometer. Daily driver. 3rd owner.

Bought the car in 2002 with 120,000K on the odometer.

Immediately replaced every gastket/hose/injector. Timing belt/water pump. Replaced the TB/WP 4 times in 8 years. Last time 15K ago (2 years); Just needs a retension. No thrust bearing issue (regularly checks-no clamp but sets the front first, then rear).

Mobil 1 forever. Replaced the radio with AM/FM/CD w/stock speakers.

Cracks in dash and pod; wear on driver's bolster just started.

Rear hatch motor needs replacement (only thing not working on car). Has a ding (shopping cart) rear driver's quarter; another ding front passenger quarter. Paint shows its age but it's been about a year since buffed and waxed.

Hasn't replaced the power steering pump-probably due-has an extra with 30,000 miles on it.

Replaced stock radiator with 928 Motorsports aluminum masterpiece.
Replaced fans with updated aftermarket ones.

Brain sent out 3 1/2 years ago with 02 sensor to JDS in UK for rebuilt and remapping. Has a set of never used Superchips. Not installed.

Has Toyo Proxies all around. Rears are good; fronts need replacement (4 years old) and needs front-end alignment.

Venice Blue (blue-gray).

New mats, some new carpet where it was needed.

New motor mounts in 2002.

Positronic rear. (LSD???)

Memory seats w/lumbar on driver; heat he thinks).

Took engine out and started to take apart to rebuild in 2002 when bought but engine was perfectly clean.

New AC compressor and seals in 2002. New alternator then.

Brakes stop perfect. Cross-drilled rotors. Current front pads squeal. LAst set didn't.

I think that covers it.

Call tomorrow after noon or in the next 1/2 hour (before 10:00 EST).

Drives it daily and strong.

Michael

Wow - at that price, not sure I'd pass - grab it and drive it until the right one comes along, then resell for at or near what you paid for it!

I'm still weighing it over in my mind. I do have a car lined up, 89 1 owner with 165K miles. Only need to fix the alarm and find the short.

Just waiting for some paperwork to be filed and to finish writing this check to the thieves, I mean U.S. Government and the trigger should be pulled...
