Default Gas cap?

The 928 I just bought lacks a fuel cap - it only has a piece of paper stuck in the filler neck to prevent water to enter.

Does gas caps from any other car fit, or do I need a OEM Porsche gas cap?

The previous owner claimed that the gas cap of some Audi might fit - but I forgot to ask him which.

No other gas cap will work, it is a stunningly unique object. You must get one from one of the three or four specialist suppliers that exist for this exact purpose.

If you get one without a key, just modify it to fit your key. See the web page on the UK 928 site.

note there are 2 different fuel caps one for the long key and one for the short key make sure to get a cap then is correct for your key then you can take it apart to modify the tumblers.. OR get a new cap with a key
