Ok, I'd forgotten what Super's octane was (I left the UK in '02).

The reason I asked is that the Super has more detergents and will over time clean carbon and fuel deposits out of engines.

Its conceivable that your use of the more expensive fuel (a la BP Ultimate) has unstuck rings and reduced oil consumption.
