TT upgrade done. (Super Bearing Kit)
Hi!
I just completed intallation of the TT Super Bearing kit supplied by Constantine.
I used the supplied installation guide and sharkskin's webpage as instructions and all went together well.
The only thing I did differently was that I did not use the plastic pipe as a tool to remove and install the bearings. Instead I cut a piece of thick hardwood that only just fitted inside the diameter of the TT. Then I used a piece of 2x2 and a sledge hammer...
So far I have only driven a couple of miles with it, but the whining from the TT is all gone. The only little whining that is left I belive is the transmission input shaft bearing.
The Super Bearings sure looks and feels a lot better than the original ones, so hopefully this is the last time I ever deal with the TT...

Hi Erik,
Great news! Very glad everything went well and we fully understand modifying the directions to suit what you have to work with as long as the basic concepts are understood and followed.
Your rebuilt TT should give you years of trouble free use and enjoyment. That's the way the Super Bearings were designed and engineered.
