Default New electrical issues....

So now i have a bunch of other issues now....

The rear tail lights do not work... The brake lights work... But not the tail lights when the headlights go on. The dash lights do not come on as well now. Only the headlight button lights up. No other buttons. Gauges do not light up as well, and now the fog lights don't come on...

Also the driver side headlight wont come on unless i bang it (probably a short)
Any ideas?

what happens with the indicator lights? Do they work? If they work does the red tail light go dim when the indicator light goes on? I'm asking because I had a similar issue and it was simply the earth part of the plug in the rear tail light needed cleaning and it was fixed straight away.

Is this the '87 S4? Do any of the warning lights (i.e. coolant, timing belt tension, brakes, etc) come on while the key is in the "on" position but the engine is turned off? If not, check the connections to the box that controls that stuff. It's located under the dead pedal/foot rest on the floor to the left of the brake pedal.

The headlight issue may very well be a short. If it comes on when you hit it, then unplug the light behind the bulb, plug it back in, and repeat this process a few times. That will clean any corrosion and possibly solve your problem.

On my 88 when I first got it, the plug behind the headlight switch was loose. Dashlights are controlled by a reostat under the dash pod.

Its a 87 S4 and its been sitting for the winter in a garage. Comes out with this problem lol.

All the warning lights come on, even PRND But the tachometer, speedometer gauges don't light up. Even the buttons on the dashboard don't light up except the headlights button. Fog lights wont come on at all.

Check fuses, relays, and grounds first. Then check the rheostat dimmer under the left-had side of the pod.
