I got a shopping list tacked to my *** on the way out the door!!

The lower elbow looks very clean, like new, and is solidly secured. The "Y" on the passenger side is in place and solid. The port on the drivers side has a hose connected to it, probably goes to the pfm board for all I know.

I've cleaned all the clamps, hoses and MAF surfaces with alcohol and am trying to get the frogging air hose from the supercharger to the MAF reconnected. A work in progress....

After I have that reattached I'll try starting the car with the MAF disconnected and let y'all know how it runs. It may take me a while, this big hose seems smarter than I am....not sayin' much there.

Brent, go grocery shopping with your wife and report back on all your fun. Not only was the list tacked to my *** my wife insisted on joining me. Need I say more.

Me to - as he left the house he was handed a shopping list by SO.

All I know is he checked the boot and it seems to be OK.
He is checking again to be double sure.

Needs to purchase the correct "professional solution for the MAF/Hose blow-off issue" from DR or Murph.
Going to try with the the MAf disconnected and also the known good MAF from his other GTS.
All that will take some time as Randy is a little wrench challenged. I said wrench not wench.

As previously posted the lower elbow looks very clean, like new, and is solidly secured. The "Y" on the passenger side is in place and solid. The port on the drivers side has a hose connected to it, probably goes to the pfm board for all I know.

I have reconnected all of the hoses and left the MAF disconnected. The car would not start but it was already very difficult to start. I imagine it will get harder to start due to plugs beginning to foul and a weak battery. I'll recharge the battery overnight.

As I understand it, if the MAF were bad the car would have run better. This is definitely not the case so does this necessarily mean the MAF is good.

I would appreciate your suggestions. Thank you again for all of you previous ideas.

BTW, the pinched hose was an air hose. It and another black hose coming from the direction of the passenger area connected to a "Y" and a blue hose went forward along the inside of the driver's side fuel rail. That's cleared but it didn't change things any.

Randy,

I have reviewed your other threads were you have had a similar issue and I have a few simple tests you can do that may help figure out the problem. Please feel free to call me later today or whenever is good for you and I can run you through some things to check.

I also noted in your Thread dated 1-11-2010 (HER GTS stalls, runs rough) that Joe posted (page 2 post #24) and said your car had stock chips. The MAF blow off has obviously been a problem and with all the times you have mentioned this, the MAF could be suspect, but not neccesarily the problem.

If you are aware of any changes in that respect (or in any way) since you bought it please remember to fill me in so I am further up to speed. Also if you could trace down exactly where that rubber hoses attaches (all points) before you call, it may help also.

I am not a CS expert like Tim, but I have had some experiance with Munck's SC installs and would be happy to help you get it right.

Randy asked me to tell you all that he will not be able to respond today due to one of his family dogs being very ill - we all understand Randy - good luck.

DR, no changes at all in the MAF area apart from his mechanic trying to ensure the MAF did not blow off with zip ties. MAF came off numerous times. I am sure Randy will call you tomorrow once he deals with the issues at home. He needs your system to hold the MAF in place - do you have one available or is there a lead time?

Randy,

Our hearts ache for you and Cheryl, unfortunately I have been through this a few times and wouldn't wish it on anyone. The last "Best Friend" we went through this with a few years ago was 15 years old, broke our hearts!!

Best Wishes and we so very sorry to hear this, our thoughts are with you today.

Dave and Jeannie
