Default Kansas City question

Anyone here know of a shop in the Kansas City area that works on 928s?
Any help would be appreciated.

What exactly are you needing to get done to your car?

Long story, but the purchaser of my 928 ran into some problems on the way to KC from Mpls yesterday. Stalling on the road, would start but not keep running unless foot on gas (I don't have the full story yet). Towed back to Mpls, and may have it looked at here tomorrow then shipped down. Another option would be to ship to KC if there's someone he can connect with there so he can be involved in the repair.
Not sure at this point exactly what the problem is and what will be involved in the repair.

I'll give another shout out for Mo. He hasn't personally worked on either of mine but I've heard good things. I'm in KC now and would be willing to help the new owner sort things out but I'm no master tech....just know enough to get myself in trouble.

Mo Zahrn was the mechanic for the 90 S4 I just bought from Marc White. The car was well attended too and Marc spoke highly of Mo.

My '91 is at Mo's right now for AC work. Give him a call: 316-655-4244. Good Luck, Rod

Jeremy,
I would be willing to help out too.
Ed Scherer has a guy here in KC that he uses for bigger stuff but I'll need to contact him for the name.
Also +1 on Mo, have always heard good things about him. But Wichita is two hours from hear.

What's your experience with Red Ink Racing? I'm looking for a dependable and honest local shop to work on my 944.

Give RennsportKC a call (816-965-5800). I haven't seen their shop in Grandview, MO yet (it just opened last year I think, and is on the south side of the KC metro area), but co-owner Doc (Karl) Wilen is a great guy and used to be at Imagine Auto in Lenexa, KS where I had my car serviced periodically for jobs I didn't want to do myself.

You could also PM Karl here on Rennlist: PorscheDoc. He just posted about an hour ago.

I probably need to get in touch with them myself, as there are a few things I've been wanting to do on my car and just don't seem to ever have the time to get around to it myself.

Stay far far away from Red Ink. I have personal experience with that shop, none of it good. The owner has pretty extreme distaste for water cooler Porsches and not much knowledge on how to work on them altho he still charges top dollar to do so. He knows early 911s and 914s, and does fine on those (so I hear anyway).

Started reading this thread and I immediately thought of Mo Zahr also - thro Marc White.

Watched Mo do a Griffiths supplied AC update to Jay Wellwoods 968 Turbo that I delivered without AC from Monterey to Wichita. From a short observation seemed very competent.

Australia to Wichita is a bit of a long trip for a service!

Another option you could check into is Rennen Autohaus. I came across the guy on Rennlist.

I've never had any experience with the guy but I have emailed him on a couple of occasions and he was prompt and courteous with his replies. At last check his labor rates were really reasonable as well.

+928 on the Karl Wilen referral, that's who you want working on your car in KC.
I've been eyeing that black 951 outside Red Ink for a while. Have you had any experiences with Bob's imports in Lawrence?

I am willing to make the trip to RennsportKC to get my car checked out. I'm a broke High School Sophomore and can't afford anything too expensive.
