Default air pump delete

My car has the cats deleted, as well as the air pump and corresponding hoses up to that pipe that runs along the cam cover (I'm using a 21" belt). I have that pipe capped off.
What I'd like to do since I'm about to replace my fuel lines, is remove all of that hardware too. Clearly, the metal air pipe can be removed, but what about the diverter valve? If I remove that, how far can I keep going? Or must I keep the valve but cap it at the open end?

US '78-'79 have air injection into the back of the heads which exits at each exhaust port. ('80-'84 these passages are drilled into the intake ports instead, and used for the cold start system.)

You can delete everything, and cap the heads with either 16mm oil drain plugs, or the factory plugs (which are at the front of each head).

900 219 004 02 screw plug
900 123 018 30 sealing ring

The diverter valve dumps the air pump air to the airbox at WOT so as to not overheat the exhaust system.

Ed,
The P/N's you need to seal the back of the heads are 900 219 004 02 & 900 123 018 30

That's the plug and seal. You'll need 2 of each.

Are yes, but what I want to know is - Would removing the air-pump make the engine run hotter because ambient air is no longer being pumped into the exhaust or make it run cooler because unburnt fuel is no longer being burnt in the exhaust or would both effects council each other out resulting no overall change in engine temperature.
