Default Replacing Fan Clutch- bearing advice needed

I've got a new fan clutch on the way, and also new bearings. How hard is it to pull out the old bearings, and press in the new ones? Any trick to this job?

Pull the circlips (at least 1 IIRC), warm the alloy some (not so hot you cant hold though, at least with a glove), tap out the old ones. Freeze the new ones (in their wrappers), tap them in, making sure they are home - the sound changes when you tap then if they are. Dont lose the key that engages the pulley to the shaft.

Hopefully this helps someone, my clutch fan was making some knocking noise when hot and I noticed some play in the shaft. Over heating wasn’t really an issue but I did notice slightly higher temps at a stop when out in the summer months.

I ordered from Amazon a blind hole bearing puller and bearing install kit. I also used a wood shim and c clamp technique to get the woodruff key back in which worked well. All in all straight forward with the help of the tools.

bearings were purchased from roger and the clutch fan was from summit racing, about $170 an uro part. The front bearing has a noticeably longer inner sleeve from front to back than oem but it works just fine.

I did my bearings recently. Was very straightforward. My only issue was the front bearing that I got from Porsche had the longer spacer like you found. Mine didn’t fit having that one so I found a thread on here which gave the specs for the other bearings and I ordered a generic one which was the same as my original and fitted fine.
I think there must be slight differences on years for the fans and although Porsche obviously ordered the correct one maybe mine had had a transplant from another car in it’s lifetime?
